About me: OFF On my own at 16…
Me today
I grew up in a small tobacco town in Connecticut, just in the shadow of Hartford.
At 15 1/2, I talked my way into a potwashing job for the summer on a remote island, an hour boat ride off the coast of Maine. It was 7 hours from my home in a time when you used coins to make phone calls. To say I wanted independence early is a fact.
Maine is where I picked up my first camera and fell in love with photography. Not for the art, but for the connection to people.
It’s all about the people today, too.
A Few of my favorite things
The guy with the adulting shirt is my son, my only child. Through a streak of good fortune, I had him at forty, and he has been the person that I most want to play with since he joined the world.
Thrift stores as a Treasure Hunt: “one of a kind” appeals to me. I love finding that surprise item deep within the distraction of all the “stuff”. Feels like a mini lottery win.
Strong coffee, especially with foamed milk, fabulous. ☕️
“People value youth because it means potential. But only time and experience can bring wisdom.
Value where you are right now. You've worked really hard to get here.”

why I specialize in People over 50
Somewhere after 55, I looked in the mirror and saw my grandmother looking back at me. To say it woke me to the fact that my “days are numbered” would be an understatement.
I didn’t feel wiser; I felt scared. I wanted to hide out. Somehow, I felt diminished in a way I couldn’t quite explain. For the first time, I saw myself as weathered and worn. And yet, I needed to be seen. I had a business to build. Being photographed when you feel like age has quietly taken something from you is a vulnerable thing.
I understand.
Watching a client look at their new images and say, "Wow, I had no idea I could look like that,” is a moment that can be genuinely feel life-changing.
Getting you confidently back into the game you want to play at this age is my whole reason for focusing on Over 50.
